WHAT SITE PREPARATION NEEDS TO BE DONE BEFORE THE POOL ARRIVES?

CAN THE POOL BE MODIFIED?
Unfortunately, no, as we use both halves of the shipping container for pools and the fibreglass designs are pre-moulded. Having a standard configuration allows us to keep the costs down for you.
CAN THE STAIRS AND DOOR BE LEFT OUT SO THAT WE CAN EXTEND A DECK AROUND THE POOL?
Yes, we can leave out the stairs and safety door, but keep in mind that you will then be required by law to place a fence around your pool.
CAN THE OUTSIDE OF THE Container BE CLAD WITH WEATHER BOARDS OR OTHER CLADDING?
Yes, you can clad the outside of the container yourself, as we do not offer this. However, the cladding might affect the safety aspect of the pool (e.g. horizontal boards might allow a child to climb up into the pool).
Can I do my own decking?
Yes, you may, just make sure to let us know when ordering your pool. We will provide instructions for you to use - please remember that shipping containers can vary in size. If you are constructing a deck around the pool our advice is to ensure the pool is in location before commencing construction of the deck / surround.
Shipping Container Pools are in no way liable for remedial works needed to correct site works.
HOW DO I CONNECT THE POOL FILTRATION SYSTEM TO THE MAINS?
You need to get an electrician to do this safely. As the system is fully installed, it will not take long at all. You would need at least two 10AMP sockets, one for the pump and one for the LED light. Additional sockets will be required for additional accessories.
CAN I PUT THE CONTAINER IN THE GROUND?
The product is designed to be an above-ground pool, but it can be partially recessed in-ground (cut and fill) if the site is sloped. A retainer wall would need to be built around it to prevent contact with soil. This will also affect the safety aspect of the pool and additional child-proof fencing will be required. If you want to completely submerge the pool it would be better to go with a normal in-ground pool - there are a number of companies that will be able to assist you with this.
DOES THE METAL FROM THE CONTAINER CAUSE THE POOL TO BECOME HOT?
No, it does not affect the temperature as fiberglass itself is very insulating. If the pool is in full sun during the summer, the water will heat up regardless of the metal container. We offer a dual-system heat pump that will cool the water to your desired temperature for hotter climates.
HOW DO I KNOW IF I NEED A CRANE TO PLACE THE POOL INTO POSITION?
If the yard allows, the truck could come in and drop the pool onto the prepared site. If this is not possible, you could contact your local crane company, who would come and inspect your yard and give you some direction as to which cranes would be needed and a quote.
DO YOU HAVE ANY HEATING OPTIONS?
We offer the option of electric heating, but if you'd like a solar heating option, you'll need to go through a third party. We can install additional valves to allow solar connections by your chosen provider.
HOW DO I KNOW IF MY POOL WILL COMPLY WITH THE COUNCIL'S REGULATIONS ON POOL FENCING?
All states and territories have their own unique interpretations of the Australian standard with regards to pool fencing, therefore it will be your responsibility to ensure that the pool will comply with your local council requirements. We can supply engineer drawings to the Certifier if required.
IS TRANsPORT INLCUDED IN THE PRICE?
Due to each customer living in a unique location, we can not include the transport costs. We can however help to organise the transport for you.
CAN I ORGANISE MY OWN TRANSPORT?
Yes, you certainly may, just make sure that they have insurance.
